PARKMAN NEWS—NOVEMBER 2021 EDITION
The Referendum Election will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2021. Polls will be open at 8:00 a.m. and close at 8:00 p.m. If you have not returned your absentee ballot, please do so by 8:00 p.m. on November 2nd. If you have any questions regarding Election, please call the Town Office at 876-3730. The Parkman Town Office will be CLOSED for business on Election Day.
The Planning Board will meet on Thursday, November 4th at 6:00 p.m. in the library of the Parkman Town Office.
As of October 1st, all unpaid 2021 property taxes are accruing interest of 6%.
Don’t forget to FALL BACK and set your clocks back one hour on Sunday, November 7th at 2:00 a.m.
The Parkman Trailblazers Snowmobile Club will meet on Tuesday, November 9th at 6:00 p.m. in the lower level of the Parkman Town Office.
The Parkman Town Office will be CLOSED on Thursday, November 11th in observance of Veteran’s Day.
SAD #4 will not have school on Thursday, November 11th and Friday, November 12th.
The Board of Selectmen will meet on Thursday, November 18th at 6:00 p.m. in the library of the Parkman Town Office.
The Parkman Grange and Bicentennial Committee will have a Hunters Supper on Saturday, November 20th from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Parkman Grange Hall. Menu will include smothered beef, mashed potatoes, baked beans, coleslaw, green bean casserole, macaroni and cheese, veggies, rolls, and desserts. Admission is by donation to benefit the SAD #4 Santa Project and the Bicentennial Committee. Take-out is available from 4:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., please call ahead to Kylee at 717-0865. Take-out is also by donation. There will be a Pie Auction prior to the Gun Raffle drawing. Thanksgiving is the following week, so plan to grab a pie to support a great cause.
The Parkman Grange is again coordinating the MSAD#4 Santa Project. Applications are available at the Town Offices in Abbot, Cambridge, Guilford, Sangerville, and Parkman, as well as at the Guilford Memorial Library. They are also available at any time at the Parkman Grange in the bulletin board on the porch. The application deadline is November 12, 2021. The Santa Project provides a winter coat, boots, and a toy to area children from newborn to high schoolers. Please return your application to the locked box at the Parkman Grange or by mail to PO BOX 114, Guilford, ME 04443. The distribution will be on Sunday, December 19, 2021, from 10:00 am to Noon at the Parkman Grange Hall. Donations are gratefully accepted and can be mailed to the address above. There will also be an Angel Tree set up at KC’s Country Store where you can sponsor a child’s wish.
The Parkman Town Office will be CLOSED on Thursday, November 25th and Friday, November 26th in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.

The 2022 Dog Licenses are now available. Reminder letters were sent out in October. If you would like to do your dog license renewal via mail, please remember to enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope so we can send you the new tag. The fee for a male/female is $11.00, and $6.00 for a spayed or neutered dog. All dogs six months and older must be licensed by January 31, 2022, or a $25.00 state mandated late fee will apply.
The Bicentennial Committee has tickets for purchase for a one of a kind personalized .17 HMR Henry Golden Boy gun. There is a limited supply of 500 tickets. Tickets are $10.00 each and are available at the Parkman Town Office, KC’s Country Store, Herring Brothers, and from Tricia Elderkin. The drawing will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2021, following the Hunters Supper and Pie Auction.
The Parkman Baptist Church holds worship services every Sunday at 10:00 a.m. All are welcome to attend.
Hunting with firearms begins on Saturday, October 30th for Maine residents and Monday, November 1st for all hunters. The last day of hunting season for firearms is November 27, 2021.
The Transfer Station is open Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to Noon. Please have your Transfer Station sticker visible to the attendants inside of your vehicle. If you do not have a sticker, please contact the Town Office at 876-3730. They are free of charge.
The Bicentennial Committee has 2022 Calendars for sale at the Parkman Town Office and KC’s Country Store. They are $15.00 each and all proceeds go to the 200th Celebration for the Town of Parkman scheduled for Saturday, July 23, 2022.
Proof of insurance is required to register all vehicles. The Town Office accepts electronic proof of insurance, or you can have your insurance agent fax proof to 876-9704 or email proof to townofparkman@yahoo.com.
White’s Family Redemption has a temporary hour change during Hunting Season. They are only available to count bottle from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Drop offs will need to call ahead, Sunday is an option but please call them at 876-2681 first.
The Universalist Unitarian Church of Sangerville and Dover-Foxcroft Food Cupboard is open the first and third Wednesday of each month from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. All are welcome. They are located at the corner of Church Street and Main Street in downtown Sangerville.
When doing a private sale, if there are two names on the prior title you must have both signatures on the back of the title to register the vehicle. If you are doing a title in two names at the time of registration, both parties must be present to sign the title in front of the clerk.
If you need a certified copy of a birth, death, or marriage certificate please call ahead to the Parkman Town Office at 876-3730. The fee is $15.00 for one copy, and $6.00 for any additional copies of the same record requested at the same time.
The 2022 snowmobile registration and stickers are now available. The fees have increased. The fee for a renewal is $56.00, and $57.00 for new registrations. Non-resident snowmobile registrations are $120.00, non-resident 3-Day is $75.00, and a non-resident 10-Day is $100.00. Inland Fisheries and Wildlife requires patrons to bring in a valid drivers license or State ID when obtaining a snowmobile registration.
