As of October 1st, all unpaid property taxes are accruing interest of 9%.
The Parkman Grange will meet on Tuesday, October 1st at 6:00 p.m. at the Parkman Grange Hall. All are welcome to attend.
The Parkman Prowlers will be holding a Landowner Appreciation Supper on Tuesday, October 1st at 5:30 p.m. in the lower level of the Parkman Town Office. The last ATV meeting of the year will be held following the supper. The meetings will resume monthly in April of 2020.
The Parkman Town Office will be closed on Wednesday, October 2nd and Thursday, October 3rd for the annual MMA Convention.
Carlson Williams will be speaking on the Sensational Murder of Alvin Watson in Parkman in 1881 on Wednesday, October 2nd at 3:00 p.m. at the Guilford Memorial Library.
The Planning Board will meet on Thursday, October 3rd at 7:00 p.m. in the library of the Parkman Town Office.
The Parkman Town Office will be closed on Tuesday, October 8th and October 9th for an Elections Workshop.
The Parkman Baptist Church will be starting a DELTA Kids Club for 1st through 6th graders on Thursdays after school until 5:00 p.m. The start date is October 10, 2019. There will be fun activities, Bible stories, games, snacks, and more. This is a FREE program to area children. The Parkman Town Office will be closed on Monday, October 14th in observance of Columbus Day.
The Board of Selectmen will meet on Thursday, October 10th and Thursday, October 24th at 6:00 p.m. in the library of the Parkman Town Office.
The Bicentennial Committee will meet on Tuesday, October 15th at 6:00 p.m. in the lower level of the Parkman Town Office. Anyone interested in planning the 200th Birthday Celebration for the Town of Parkman is welcome to attend this meeting.
The Transfer Station is no longer open on Wednesdays. They are open Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to Noon.
The 2020 Dog Licenses will be available on Tuesday, October 15, 2019. The fee for a male/female is $11.00, and $6.00 for a spayed or neutered dog. All dogs must be licensed by January 31, 2020 or a $25.00 state mandated late fee will apply. Reminder letters will go out in the mail by mid-October, and each letter will have a reminder if we need your dog’s current rabies certificate.
Effective September 19, 2019: The State of Maine Legislature increased registration clerk fees for motor vehicles from $3 to $5 for renewals and from $4 to $6 for new registrations. Duplicate registrations were also impacted with an increase from $3 to $6.
The Parkman Grange will be holding its annual Military Appreciation Supper on Saturday, October 19th starting at 4:30 p.m. The meal will be by donation for supporters and free to active and retired military. The menu is to be announced.
The Parkman Town Office will be closed on Tuesday, October 22nd for a Motor Vehicle Workshop.
Youth Hunting day is Saturday, October 26, 2019. Hunting with firearms begins on Saturday, November 2nd for Maine residents and Monday, November 4th for all hunters. The last day of hunting season for firearms is November 30, 2019.
The 2019-2020 Hunting Law books are now available free of charge at the Parkman Town Office.
The Parkman Baptist Church and the Parkman Grange will be holding a TRUNK OR TREAT on Thursday, October 31st from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Kids and their parents are welcome to come get treats. This event will be held at the Parkman Baptist Church.
Proof of insurance is required to register all vehicles. The Town Office accepts electronic proof of insurance or you can have your insurance company fax proof to 876-9704 or email proof to townofparkman@yahoo.com.

White’s Family Redemption is open Tuesday through Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. They are located on the Crow Hill Road. 876-2681.
The Parkman Grange’s First Smoke Off was a huge success. They were surprised and happy by the great turnout! Winners were: First place Drunkles BBQ (Tommy, Laura, and Scott Gourley), 2nd place Skyler Gilbert, and 3rd place Seth Elderkin.
The Universalist Unitarian Church of Sangerville and Dover-Foxcroft Food Cupboard is open the 1st Wednesday and 3rd Wednesday each month from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. All are welcome. Patrons may come to one distribution per month. They are located at 130 Main Street in Sangerville (corner Church Street and Main Street).

The Parkman Grange is happy to report that funds were raised, and they have a new well! They would like to extend a big thank you to all who contributed to their well fund. They appreciate the support of the community.

The Parkman Baptist Church holds worship services every Sunday morning at 10:00 a.m. All are welcome to attend. On Sunday, October 6th they will be having a guest speaker at 10:00 a.m.; John Withee of Hartland.
If you need a certified copy of a birth, death, or marriage certificate please call ahead to the Parkman Town Office at 876-3730. The fee is $15.00 for one copy, and $6.00 for any additional copies of the same record requested at the same time.
The Bicentennial Committee has 2020 Calendars for sale at the Parkman Town Office and KC’s Country Store. They are $15.00 each. This is a fundraiser for the 200th Birthday Celebration for the Town of Parkman coming up in 2022.

The Motor Vehicle Mobile Unit hours in Dover-Foxcroft: The 1st and last Wednesday of each month from 9:30 a.m. to Noon & 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the American Legion Hall (112 Park Street, Dover-Foxcroft).
The fee for a marriage license is $40.00. Marriage applications are valid 90 days from issue. Both the bride and groom must sign the application in the presence of a clerk at the Parkman Town Office. If this isn’t your first marriage, please bring a copy of your divorce decree or a death certificate when completing the application. Please note that you must call the Parkman Town Office at 876-3730 to schedule an appointment to obtain your marriage license.
The Referendum Election will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2019. Polls will be open at 8:00 a.m. and close at 8:00 p.m. Voting will take place in the lower level of the Parkman Town Office. Absentee ballots will be available at the Parkman Town Office. The Parkman Town Office will be CLOSED for business on Election Day.
