PARKMAN NEWS—DECEMBER 2018 EDITION
The Parkman Grange will meet on Tuesday, December 4th at 6:00 p.m. at the Parkman Grange Hall. All are invited to attend this meeting. They will be closing the Grange Hall for the winter after Christmas. There will not be a meeting in January.
Muzzleloading season is November 26th through December 8, 2018, and the cost for a muzzleloading license is $14.00.
The Planning Board will meet on Thursday, December 6th at 7:00 p.m. in the library of the Parkman Town Office.
SANTA IS COMING TO PARKMAN GRANGE: The Parkman Grange will host the annual Kid’s Christmas Party on Saturday, December 8th from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Parkman Grange Hall. Santa will be there listening to wishes, giving out presents, and posing for pictures. Eight different craft tables will be set up for kids to make gifts to give to family or friends. Cookies, cocoa, and spiced cider will be served. This party is FREE of charge to all who believe that giving brings the greatest joy. It is Parkman Grange’s gift to the community. Anyone interested in helping out for a few hours, give Sue a call at 277-3942.
The Transfer Station is open Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to Noon.
The Board of Selectmen will meet on Thursday, December 13th and Thursday, December 27th at 6:00 p.m. in the library of the Parkman Town Office.
There will be a Candlelight Christmas Eve Service on Monday, December 24th at 6:00 p.m. at the Parkman Baptist Church. This will be a special time of reflection and praise. All are welcome to attend.
The Parkman Town Office will be CLOSED on Monday, December 24th and Tuesday, December 25th in observance of Christmas.
The SAD #4 Santa project is underway. This program provides a warm coat, boots, and a toy to eligible children in our area. An angel tree is set up at KC’s Country Store. If you would like to help with this project, please contact Sue Manchester at 277-3942. The Santa Project distribution will be held on December 16th from 10:00 a.m. to Noon.
As of October 1st, all 2018 unpaid property taxes are accruing interest at 7%.
The 2019 snowmobile registration and stickers are now available. The fee for a renewal is $46.00, and $47.00 for a new registration. Non-resident snowmobile registrations are $100.00, non-resident 3-Day is $50.00, and a non-resident 10-Day is $76.00.
Just a friendly reminder that all dogs six months and older must be licensed by January 31, 2019 or a state mandated $25.00 late fee will apply. The fee for a male/female is $11.00, and $6.00 for a spayed or neutered dog.
The Parkman Baptist Church holds worship services every Sunday morning at 10:00 a.m. All are welcome to attend.
Proof of insurance is required to register vehicles. The Town Office accepts electronic proof of insurance or you can have your insurance agent fax proof to 876-9704.
One World Community Café serves a healthy lunch every Wednesday at Noon at the Guilford Methodist Church in Guilford. All are welcome to attend.

If you need a certified copy of a birth, death, or marriage certificate, please call ahead to the Parkman Town Office at 876-3730. The fee is $15 for one copy, and $6.00 for any additional copies of the same record requested at the same time.

The Unitarian Universalist Church of Sangerville and Dover-Foxcroft Food Cupboard is open the 1st Wednesday and 3rd Wednesday each month from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. All are welcome. They are located at 130 Main Street in Sangerville (corner Church Street and Main Street).

The books for the Town of Parkman will close on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. Property taxes unpaid at that time will appear in the annual Town Report. Any requests to the Selectmen for articles in the warrant for the annual Town Meeting must be received by January 31, 2019.
