The State of Maine offers health care assistance through the MaineCare program for those who qualify.

What is MaineCare?
MaineCare (also called Medicaid), is a health coverage program for eligible Maine residents. It pays for prescriptions, doctor’s office visits, hospital services, and more.

Dental Help
The  MaineCare program covers most dental services for children and young adults under age 21. Effective July 1, 2022 MaineCare began covering comprehensive preventative, diagnostic, and restorative dental services for members aged 21 and over. In some cases, MaineCare also covers dentures.

Some dental clinics provide care on a “sliding-scale” basis to people with limited or no dental coverage.
