PARKMAN NEWS—SEPTEMBER 2023 EDITION

  • The Parkman Town Office will be​​ CLOSED​​ on​​ Monday, September 4th​​ in observance of Labor Day.

 

  • The Parkman Grange will meet on​​ Tuesday, September 5th​​ at 5:00 p.m. at the Parkman Grange Hall. ​​ All are welcome to attend. ​​ For more information, please contact Sue Manchester at 277-3942.

 

  • The Planning Board will meet on​​ Thursday, September 7th​​ at 6:00 p.m. in the library of the Parkman Town Office.

 

  • The​​ Parkman Prowlers​​ ATV Club will be having a club ride on​​ Saturday, September 9th. ​​ All are welcome to join. ​​ They will be meeting at KC’s Country Store at 8:00 a.m. and riding to the Forks.

 

  • The deadline for antlerless deer permit recipients to claim and purchase their permits is​​ 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, September 12, 2023. ​​ Visit mefishwidlife.com/deerpermit to claim and purchase permits.

 

  • The Board of Selectmen will meet on​​ Thursday, September 14th​​ and​​ Thursday, September 28th​​ at 5:30 p.m. in the library of the Parkman Town Office.

 

  • The​​ Parkman Prowlers​​ ATV Club will meet on​​ Monday, September 18th​​ at 5:30 p.m. in the lower level of the Parkman Town Office. ​​ It is a potluck, and all are welcome to attend.

 

  • The Transfer Station is open Wednesdays from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to Noon. ​​ Please note that Wednesday, September 27th​​ will be the last day the Transfer Station will be open on Wednesdays this year. ​​ Please have your Transfer Station sticker visible to the attendants.

 

  • All unpaid 2023 property taxes begin accruing interest of 8% on​​ October 1, 2023.

 

  • Building permits are available at the Parkman Town Office.

 

  • White’s Family Redemption​​ is open Tuesday through Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ​​ They are closed Sunday and Monday. ​​ They are located on the Crow Hill Road in Parkman. ​​ They can be reached at 876-2681. ​​ Please note that they will be CLOSED Saturday, September 23, 2023 through Monday, October 2, 2023 for a Moose Hunt.

 

  • The winners of the Minnie Bridge Scholarship are Matthew Chadbourne, Merrilee Levensailor, Mackenzie Kain, and Mercy Harper. ​​ Each received a check for $500. ​​ The Parkman Grange would like to thank everyone that attended the award supper.

  • Proof of insurance is required to register all vehicles. ​​ The Town Office accepts electronic proof of insurance, or you can have your insurance agent email proof to​​ townofparkman@yahoo.com. ​​

  • If you need a certified copy of a birth, death, or marriage certificate please call ahead to the Parkman Town Office at 876-3730. ​​ The fee is $15.00 for one copy, and $6.00 for any additional copies of the same record requested at the same time.

 

  • The Sangerville Food Cupboard (Universalist Unitarian Church) is open the first and third Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. ​​ All are welcome. ​​ They are located at the corner of Church and Main Street in downtown Sangerville. ​​ For more information, please call 277-4221.

 

  • Fire permits can be obtained at KC’s Country Store: 876-4111, and from Danny White ​​ at 85​​ Crow Hill Road: 876-2681.

 

  • The Parkman Baptist Church holds worship services every Sunday at 10:00 a.m. ​​ All are welcome to attend.

 

  • The fee for a marriage license is $40.00. ​​ Marriage applications are valid 90 days from issue. ​​ Both the bride and groom must sign the application in the presence of a clerk at the Parkman Town Office. ​​ If this is not your first marriage, please bring in a copy of your divorce decree or a death certificate when completing the application. ​​ Please note that you must call the Parkman Town Office at 876-3730 to schedule an appointment to obtain your marriage license.

 

  • When doing a private sale, if there are two names on the prior title you must have both signatures on the back of the title to register the vehicle. ​​ If you are doing a title in two​​ names at the time of registration, both parties must be present to sign the title in front of the clerk. ​​ Please note that when doing a private sale, a 1995 to current year vehicle will need a title indefinitely.

 

  • The Parkman Town Office will be​​ CLOSED​​ on​​ Wednesday, October 4th​​ and Thursday, October 5th​​ so staff can attend the annual MMA Convention.
