PARKMAN NEWS—JANUARY 2023 EDITION

  • The Parkman Town Office will be​​ CLOSED​​ on​​ Monday, January 2, 2023, in observance of New Years. ​​ We hope everyone has a Happy New Year!

 

  • The Transfer Station will be open on New Years Eve from 8:00 a.m. to Noon. ​​ They are open every Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to Noon. ​​ Please have your Transfer Station sticker visible to the attendants inside of your vehicle.

 

  • The Planning Board will meet on​​ Thursday, January 5th​​ at 6:00 p.m. in the library of the Parkman Town Office.

 

  • The​​ Parkman Trailblazers​​ Snowmobile Club will meet on​​ Tuesday, January 10th​​ at 6:00 p.m. in the lower level of the Parkman Town Office.

 

  • The Board of Selectmen will meet on​​ Wednesday, January 11th​​ and​​ Thursday, January 26th​​ at 5:30 p.m. in the library of the Parkman Town Office.

 

  • The Parkman Town Office will be​​ CLOSED​​ on​​ Monday, January 16th​​ in observance of Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday.

 

  • SAD #4 schools will not have school on​​ Monday, January 16th​​ in observance of Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday.

 

  • Just a friendly reminder that all dogs six months and older must be licensed by​​ January 31, 2023, or a state mandated $25.00 late fee will apply. ​​ The fee for a male/female is $11.00, and $6.00 for a spayed or neutered dog.

 

  • The fiscal year for the Town of Parkman ends on​​ Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. ​​​​ Property taxes unpaid at that time will appear in the annual Town Report. ​​ Any requests to the Selectmen for articles in the warrant for the annual Town Meeting must be received by January 31st.

 

  • ATTENTION: ​​ The little winter sand shed by the old barn at the Parkman Town Office is for Parkman residents only. ​​ Please limit sand to​​ 2 five-gallon buckets per storm. ​​ Thank you!

 

  • Lance Johnson is the Code Enforcement Officer and Plumbing Inspector for the Town of Parkman. ​​ He can be reached at 446-5459.

 

  • When doing a private sale, if there are two names on the prior title you must have both signatures on the back of the title to register the vehicle. ​​ If you are doing a title in two names at time of registration, both parties must be present to sign the title in front of the clerk. ​​ Also please note that when doing a private sale, a 1995 to current year vehicle will need a title indefinitely.

 

  • The Parkman Grange will not meet this month. ​​ The Grange Hall is closed for the winter and will reopen for Town Meeting in March of 2023.

 

  • The Parkman Baptist Church holds worship services every Sunday at 10:00 a.m. ​​ All are welcome to attend.

 

  • Stephen Lackey is the Animal Control Officer for the Town of Parkman. ​​ He can be reached at 343-2013. ​​ 

 

  • The Sangerville Food Cupboard (Universalist Unitarian Church) is open the first and third Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. ​​ All are welcome. ​​ They are located at the corner of Church and Main Street in downtown Sangerville. ​​ For more information, please call 277-4221.

 

  • Proof of insurance is required to register all vehicles. ​​ The Town Office accepts electronic proof of insurance, or you can have your insurance agent fax proof to 876-9704 or email proof to​​ townofparkman@yahoo.com.

 

  • White’s Family Redemption​​ is open Tuesday through Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ​​ They are closed Sunday and Monday. ​​ They are located on the Crow Hill Road in Parkman. ​​ 876-2681. ​​ Please note that they will be opening at Noon on Tuesday, January 3rd.

 

  • If you need a certified copy of a birth, death, or marriage certificate please call ahead to the Parkman Town Office at 876-3730. ​​ The fee is $15.00 for one copy, and $6.00 for any additional copies of the same record requested at the same time.

 

  • Fire permits can be obtained at KC’s Country Store from Pam Sukis: 876-4111, and from Danny White at 85 Crow Hill Road: 876-2681.

 

  • The 2023 snowmobile registrations and stickers are now available. ​​ The fee for a renewal is $56.00, and $57.00 for new registrations. ​​ The Town of Parkman participates in the MOSES program for all recreational licenses and atv’s, boats, and snowmobiles. ​​ You must bring in a valid driver’s license or unexpired State ID and vin number of previous registration. ​​ If you are registering for the first time, please bring in a bill of sale or proof of sales tax paid from a dealer at the time of registration. ​​ Snowmobiles DO NOT require a title.

 

  • The fee for a marriage license is $40.00. ​​ Marriage applications are valid 90 days from issue. ​​ Both the bride and groom must sign the application in the presence of a clerk at the Parkman Town Office. ​​ Please note that you must call the Parkman Town Office at 876-3730 to schedule an appointment to obtain your marriage license.
