PARKMAN NEWS—JANUARY 2022 EDITION

  • The Parkman Town Office​​ will be​​ CLOSED​​ on​​ Friday, December 31, 2021,​​ in observance of New Years. ​​ We hope everyone has a Happy New Year!

 

  • The Transfer Station is open Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to Noon. ​​ Please have your Transfer Station sticker visible to the attendants inside of your vehicle. ​​ If you do not have a sticker, please contact the Town Office at 876-3730. ​​ Please note that the Transfer Station will be​​ CLOSED​​ on​​ Saturday, January 1, 2022,​​ in observance of New Years, but will be​​ OPEN on Sunday, January 2, 2022,​​ from 8:00 a.m. to Noon.

 

  • The Planning Board will meet on​​ Thursday, January 6th​​ at 6:00 p.m. in the library of the Parkman Town Office.

 

  • The​​ Parkman Trailblazers​​ Snowmobile Club will meet on​​ Tuesday, January 11th​​ at 6:00 p.m. in the lower level of the Parkman Town Office.

 

  • The Board of Selectmen will meet on​​ Thursday, January 13th​​ and​​ Thursday, January 27th​​ at 5:30 p.m.​​ in the library of the Parkman Town Office.

 

  • The Parkman Town Office will be​​ CLOSED​​ on​​ Monday, January 17th​​ in observance of Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday.

 

  • Congratulations to Stephen Lackey on being the new Animal Control Officer for the Town of Parkman. ​​ He can be reached at 343-2013.

 

  • Congratulations to Lance Johnson on being the new Code Enforcement Officer and Plumbing Inspector for the Town of Parkman. ​​ He can be reached at 446-5459.

 

  • SAD #4 school district will have an early release day on​​ Friday, January 14th​​ and no school on​​ Monday, January 17th​​ in observance of Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday.

 

  • Just a friendly reminder that all dogs six months and older must be licensed by​​ January 31, 2022, or a state mandated $25.00 late fee will apply. ​​ The fee for a male/female is $11.00, and $6.00 for a spayed or neutered dog.

 

  • The books for the Town of Parkman close on​​ Monday, January 31, 2022, at 5:00 p.m.​​  ​​​​ Property taxes unpaid at that time will appear in the annual Town Report. ​​ Any requests to the Selectmen for articles in the warrant for the annual Town Meeting must be received by January 31, 2022.

 

  • The Bicentennial Committee will meet on​​ Tuesday, January 25th​​ at​​ 5:30 p.m.​​ in the lower level of the Parkman Town Office. ​​ All are welcome to attend this planning meeting for the 200th​​ Celebration for the Town of Parkman.

 

  • Happy Birthday to the Town of Parkman on Saturday, January 29, 2022!!! ​​ We were incorporated on January 29, 1822. ​​ The celebration for this 200th​​ milestone will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2022.

 

  • ATTENTION: ​​ The little winter sand shed by the old barn at the Parkman Town Office is for Parkman residents only. ​​ Please limit sand to​​ 2 five-gallon buckets per storm. ​​ Thank you!

 

  • The Bicentennial Committee has Town of Parkman hooded sweatshirts available for purchase at the Parkman Town Office. ​​ They are $25.00 each. ​​ 

 

  • White’s Family Redemption​​ WINTER HOURS: ​​ Open Tuesday through Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Closed Sunday and Monday. ​​ They are located on the Crow Hill Road in Parkman. ​​ 876-2681.

 

  • Proof of insurance is required to register all vehicles. ​​ The Town Office accepts electronic proof of insurance, or you can have your insurance agent fax proof to 876-9704 or email proof to​​ townofparkman@yahoo.com. ​​ 

 

  • The Parkman Grange would like to thank everyone that made the SAD #4 Santa Project a success.

 

  • If you need a certified copy of a birth, death, or marriage certificate please call ahead to the Parkman Town Office at 876-3730. ​​ The fee is $15.00 for one copy, and $6.00 for any additional copies of the same record requested at the same time.

 

  • The Parkman Baptist Church holds worship services every Sunday at 10:00 a.m. ​​ All are welcome to attend.

 

  • When doing a private sale, if there are two names on the prior title you must have both signatures on the back of the title to register the vehicle. ​​ If you are doing a title in two names at the time of registration, both parties must be present to sign the title in front of the clerk.

 

  • Fire permits can be obtained at KC’s Country Store from Pam Sukis: 876-4111, and from Danny White at 85 Crow Hill Road: 876-2681.

 

  • The Bicentennial Committee has 2022 Calendars for sale at the Parkman Town Office and at KC’s Country Store. ​​ They are $15.00 each and all proceeds go to the 200th​​ Celebration for the Town of Parkman.

 

  • The 2022 Hunting/Fishing Licenses are available for purchase at the Parkman Town Office. ​​ Inland Fisheries and Wildlife requires patrons to bring in a valid drivers license or unexpired State ID when obtaining a Hunting/Fishing license.

 

  • The fee for a marriage license is $40.00. ​​ Marriage applications are valid 90 days from issue. ​​ Both the bride and groom must sign the application in the presence of a clerk at the Parkman Town Office. ​​ If this is not your first marriage, please bring in a copy of your divorce decree or a death certificate when completing the application. ​​ Please note that you must call the Parkman Town Office at 876-3730 to schedule an appointment to obtain your marriage license.

 

  • The 2022 snowmobile registration and stickers are now available. ​​ The fees have increased. ​​ The fee for a renewal is $56.00, and $57.00 for new registrations. ​​ Inland Fisheries and Wildlife requires patrons to bring in a valid driver’s license or State ID when obtaining a snowmobile registration.

 

  • The Parkman Town Office is open Monday and Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. ​​ The phone number is 876-3730, fax is 876-9704, email is​​ townofparkman@yahoo.com, and website is​​ www.parkmanmaine.com. ​​ We accept credit cards in person and over the phone. ​​ There is a 3% surcharge when using your credit card. ​​
