PARKMAN NEWS—SEPTEMBER 2021 EDITION

  • The first day of school for SAD #4 pre-K through 9th​​ grade is​​ Wednesday, September 1st​​ and for grades 10-12​​ Thursday, September 2nd. ​​ 

 

  • The Planning Board will meet on​​ Thursday,​​ September 2nd​​ at 6:00 p.m. in the library of the Parkman Town Office.

 

  • The Parkman Town Office will be​​ CLOSED​​ on​​ Monday, September 6th​​ in observance of Labor Day.

 

  • The Board of Selectmen will meet on​​ Thursday, September 9th​​ and​​ Thursday, September 23rd​​ at 6:00 p.m. in the library of the Parkman Town Office.

 

  • The​​ Parkman Trailblazers​​ Snowmobile Club will meet on​​ Tuesday, September 14th​​ at 6:00 p.m. in the lower level of the Parkman Town Office.

 

  • The Bicentennial Committee will meet on​​ Wednesday, September 15th​​ at 6:00 p.m. in the lower level of the Parkman Town Office. ​​ All are welcome to attend this meeting to plan for the 200th​​ Celebration, scheduled for Saturday, July 23, 2022.

 

  • The Transfer Station is open Wednesdays from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to Noon. ​​ Please note that Wednesday, September 29th​​ will be the last day the Transfer Station will be open on Wednesdays this year. ​​ Please have your Transfer Station sticker visible to the attendants inside of your vehicle. ​​ If you do not have a sticker, please contact the Town Office at 876-3730. ​​ They are free of charge.

 

  • All unpaid 2021 property taxes begin accruing interest of 6% on​​ October 1, 2021.

 

  • The Parkman Town Office will be​​ CLOSED​​ on​​ Thursday, September 30th​​ and Friday October 1, 2021,​​ for the annual MMA Convention.

 

  • Building permits are available at the Parkman Town Office.

 

  • The Parkman Baptist Church holds worship services every Sunday at 10:00 a.m. ​​ All are welcome to attend.

 

  • Proof of insurance is required to register all vehicles. ​​ The Town Office accepts electronic proof of insurance, or you can have your insurance agent fax proof to 876-9704 or email proof to​​ townofparkman@yahoo.com.

 

  • Sonia Sanborn is the Animal Control Officer for the Town of Parkman. ​​ She can be reached at 876-3000 (h)​​ or 343-0455 (c).

 

  • White’s Family Redemption​​ is open Tuesday through Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and closed Sunday and Monday. ​​ They can be reached at 876-2681 and are located on the Crow Hill Road in Parkman.

 

  • The fee for a marriage license is $40.00. ​​ Marriage applications are valid 90 days from issue. ​​ Both the bride and groom must sign the application in the presence of a clerk at the Parkman Town Office. ​​ If this isn’t your first marriage, please bring in a copy of your divorce decree or a death certificate of prior spouse when completing the application. ​​ Please note that you must call​​ the Parkman Town Office at 876-3730 to schedule an appointment to obtain your marriage license.

 

  • The Bicentennial Committee has tickets for purchase for a one of a kind personalized .17 HMR Henry Golden Boy gun. ​​ There is a limited​​ supply of 500 tickets. ​​ Tickets are $10.00 each and are available at the Parkman Town Office, KC’s Country Store, Herring Brothers, and from Tricia Elderkin. ​​ The drawing will be held on​​ Saturday, November 20, 2021, following a Hunter’s Supper and Pie Auction.

 

  • Fire permits can be obtained at KC’s Country Store from Pam Sukis: 876-4111, and from Danny White at 85 Crow Hill Road: 876-2681.

 

  • The Universalist Unitarian Church of Sangerville and Dover-Foxcroft Food Cupboard is open the first and third Wednesday of each month from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. ​​ All are welcome. ​​ They are located at the corner of Church Street and Main Street in downtown Sangerville.

 

  • When doing a private sale, if there are two names on the prior title you must have both signatures on the back of the title to register the vehicle. ​​ If you are doing a title in two names at the time of registration, both parties must be present to sign the title in front of the clerk.

 

  • If you need a certified copy of a birth, death, or marriage certificate please call ahead to the Parkman Town Office at 876-3730. ​​ The fee is $15.00 for one copy, and $6.00 for any additional copies of the same record requested at the same time.

  • ATV registrations and stickers are available at the Parkman Town Office. ​​ The fee for a renewal is $46.00, and $47.00 for a new registration. ​​ Non-resident fee for a renewal is $91.00 and $92.00 for a new registration. ​​ ATV’s DO NOT require a title. ​​ If you are registering an ATV for the first time, please bring in a bill of sale or proof of sales tax paid from a dealer at the time of registration. ​​ We need the color of the ATV and your Driver’s License or an unexpired State ID at time of registration. ​​ This is a requirement from Inland Fisheries and Wildlife.
