PARKMAN NEWS—JUNE 2021 EDITION

  • The Planning Board will meet on​​ Thursday, June 3rd​​ at 6:00 p.m. in the library of the Parkman Town Office.

  • If you have not registered your dog for 2021, the State has reinstated the $25.00 late fee beginning on​​ Wednesday, June 2nd. ​​ The state extended the deadline from February 1st. ​​ This late fee does not apply if you are registering your dog for the first time.

  • The Transfer Station is open Wednesdays from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and​​ Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to Noon. ​​ Please have your Transfer Station sticker visible to the attendants inside of your vehicle. ​​ If you do not have a sticker, please contact the Town Office at 876-3730. ​​ They are free of charge.

  • The SAD #4 Budget Validation​​ Referendum will be held on​​ Tuesday, June 8, 2021. ​​ Polls will be open 8:00 a.m.to 8:00 p.m. and voting will take place in the lower level of the Parkman Town Office. ​​ Absentee ballots are available at the Parkman Town Office. ​​ The Parkman Town Office will​​ be​​ CLOSED​​ for business the day of Election.

  • The Bicentennial Committee will meet on​​ Wednesday, June 16th​​ at 6:00 p.m. in the lower level of the Parkman Town Office. ​​ All are welcome to attend this meeting on planning the 200th​​ Birthday Celebration for the​​ Town of Parkman. ​​ The Celebration will take place tentatively on​​ Saturday, July 23, 2022.

  • Congratulations to all 2021 PCHS graduates! ​​ The last day of school for SAD #4 is​​ Friday, June 18, 2021​​ and it is a half day.

  • The Board of Selectmen will meet on​​ Thursday, June 10th​​ and​​ Thursday, June 24th​​ at 6:00 p.m. in the library of the Parkman Town Office.

  • The 2021 Minnie Bridge Scholarship Applications are available at the Parkman Town Office. ​​ The deadline for completion is​​ June 30, 2021. ​​​​ Applicants must be Parkman​​ residents, must have successfully completed at least one term of post-high school education, and be enrolled in the upcoming term. ​​ Winners will be announced in August.

  • The 2021/2022 ATV Registrations and stickers are available. ​​ If you are registering an​​ ATV for the first time, please bring in a bill of sale or proof of sales tax paid from a dealer at the time of registration. ​​ ATV’s DO NOT require a title. ​​ We need the color of the ATV and your Driver’s License or an unexpired State ID at time of registration. ​​ This is a requirement from Inland Fisheries and Wildlife.

  • Fire permits can be obtained at KC’s Country Store from Pam Sukis: 876-4111, and from Danny White at 85 Crow Hill Road: 876-2681.

  • Building permits are available at the Parkman Town Office.

  • Sonia Sanborn is the Animal Control Officer for the Town of Parkman. ​​ She can be reached at 876-3000 (h) or 343-0455 (c). ​​ 

  • Proof of insurance is required to register all vehicles. ​​ The Town Office accepts electronic proof of insurance or you can have your insurance agent email proof to​​ townofparkman@yahoo.com​​ or fax proof to 876-9704.

  • If you need a certified copy of a birth, death, or marriage certificate please call ahead to the Parkman Town Office at 876-3730. ​​ The fee is $15.00 for one copy, and $6.00 for any additional copies of the same record requested at the same time.

  • If you would like to rent the Parkman Grange Hall, please contact Don Pepin at 343-0274. ​​ Please disregard the fillable form on the​​ Town’s website, contact Don directly. ​​ 

  • The fee for a marriage license is $40.00. ​​ Marriage applications are valid 90 days from issue. ​​ Both the bride and groom must sign the application in the presence of a clerk at the Parkman Town Office. ​​ If this is not your first marriage, please bring in a copy of your divorce decree or a death certificate of prior spouse when completing the application. ​​ Please note that you must call the Parkman Town Office at 876-3730 to schedule an appointment to obtain your marriage license.

  • The 2021 Boat Registrations are available. ​​ If you are registering a boat for the first time, you will need a bill of sale or proof of sales tax paid at dealer at time of registration. ​​ Registration fee is based on length of boat and horsepower. ​​ Boats DO NOT require a title. ​​ We also need the color of the boat and your Driver’s License or unexpired State ID per requirement of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife. ​​ 

  • When doing a private sale, if there are two names on the prior title you must have both signatures on the back of the title to register the vehicle. ​​ If you are doing a title in two names at time of registration, both parties must be present to sign the title in front of the clerk.

  • White’s Family Redemption​​ is open Tuesday through Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and closed Sunday and Monday. ​​ They can be reached at 876-2681 and are located on the Crow Hill Road in Parkman.

  • The Parkman Baptist Church holds worship services every Sunday at 10:00 a.m. ​​ All are welcome to attend.

  • The Universalist Unitarian Church of Sangerville and Dover-Foxcroft Food Cupboard is open the first and third Wednesday of each month from 9:30 a.m. to Noon. ​​ All are welcome. ​​ They are located at the corner of Church Street and Main Street in downtown Sangerville.

  • The Parkman Town Office will be​​ CLOSED​​ on​​ Friday, July 2nd​​ and​​ Monday, July 5th​​ in observance of Independence Day.

  • The Bicentennial Committee will have tickets for purchase for a one of a kind personalized .17 HMR Henry Golden Boy gun. ​​ There will be a limited supply of 500 tickets. ​​ Tickets are $10.00 each and will be available at the Parkman Town Office and KC’s Country Store this month. ​​ The drawing will be held on​​ Saturday, November 20, 2021​​ at the Parkman Grange Hall following a Hunter’s Supper and Pie Auction.

  • The Parkman Baptist Church will host their annual Summer Bible Club beginning​​ Thursday July 15, 2021​​ and continuing each Thursday through August 12, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. ​​ The theme this year is Giddy-Up Junction: Taking God’s Love to New Frontiers. ​​ This is a free program for children ages 5 to 12 years old. ​​ There will be Bible stories, fun songs,​​ crafts,​​ exciting drama, games, and yummy snacks each week. ​​ For more information, please contact Yvonne Davis at 717-5929.
