PARKMAN NEWS—MARCH 2021 EDITION

  • The Planning Board will meet via Zoom on​​ Thursday, March 4th​​ at 6:00 p.m. ​​ If you would like to participate in this meeting, please contact the Parkman Town Office for the Meeting ID and​​ passcode. ​​ All are welcome to attend to see how a Planning Board Meeting is run.

  • The​​ Parkman Trailblazers​​ Snowmobile Club will meet on​​ Tuesday, March 9th​​ at 6:00 p.m. in the lower level of the Parkman Town Office.

  • The Board of Selectmen will meet on​​ Thursday, March 11th​​ and​​ Thursday, March 25th​​ at 6:00 p.m. in the library of the Parkman Town Office.

  • SAD #4 will have an Early Release Day on​​ Thursday, March 11th​​ at 11:30 a.m. and there is NO school on​​ Friday, March 12th​​ as it is a Teacher Workshop Day.

  • Remember to Spring Ahead on​​ Sunday, March 14th​​ at 2:00 a.m. ​​​​ Set your clocks ahead one hour.

  • The annual Town Meeting for the Town of Parkman will be held on​​ Saturday, March 20, 2021​​ at 10:30 a.m. at the Parkman Grange Hall. ​​ The Registrar of Voters will be at the Parkman Grange Hall at 10:00 a.m. ​​ Please bring your annual Town Report with you to the Town Meeting. ​​ The reports will be available around March 12th​​ at the Parkman Town Office, KC’s Country Store, and the Transfer Station. ​​ Please note that there will not be a Town Meeting Dinner this year.

  • Just a friendly reminder that all motorcycles expire March 31st.

  • Sonia Sanborn is the Animal Control Officer for the Town of Parkman. ​​ She can be reached at 876-3000 (h) or 343-0455 (c).

  • ATTENTION: ​​ The​​ little winter sand shed by the old barn at the Parkman Town Office is for Parkman residents only. ​​ Please limit sand to​​ 2 five-gallon buckets per storm. ​​ Thank you!

  • The Universalist Unitarian Church of Sangerville and Dover-Foxcroft Food Cupboard is open​​ the 1st​​ and 3rd​​ Wednesday of each month from 9:30 a.m. to Noon. ​​ All are welcome. ​​ They are located at the corner of Church Street and Main Street in downtown Sangerville.

 

  • The Transfer Station is open Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to Noon. ​​ Please have your sticker visible to the attendants inside of your vehicle. ​​ If you do not have a Transfer Station sticker, please contact the Town Office at 876-3730. ​​ They are free of charge.

  • White’s Family Redemption​​ is open Tuesday through Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., closed Sunday and Monday. ​​ They are located on the Crow Hill Road in Parkman. ​​ 876-2681.

  • The Moose permit applications are now available online at​​ www.maine.gov/ifw. ​​ The deadline for completion is by 11:59 p.m.​​ on May 13, 2021. ​​ The Moose Lottery drawing will be held in June of 2021.

  • Inland Fisheries and Wildlife requires patrons to bring in a valid driver’s license or unexpired State ID when obtaining a Hunting/Fishing License, Snowmobile Registration, ATV Registration, and Boat Registration.

  • If you need a​​ certified copy of a birth, death, or marriage certificate please call ahead to the Parkman Town Office at 876-3730. ​​ The fee is $15.00 for one copy, and $6.00 for any additional copies of the same record requested at the same time.

  • Proof of insurance is required to register all vehicles. ​​ The Town Office accepts electronic proof of insurance or you can have your insurance agent email proof to​​ townofparkman@yahoo.com​​ or fax proof to 876-9704.

  • When doing a private sale, if there are two names on the prior title you must have both signatures on the back of the title to register the vehicle. ​​ If you are doing a title in two names at time of registration, both parties must be present to sign the title in front of the clerk.

  • The Bicentennial Committee will meet on​​ Wednesday, April 7, 2021​​ at 6:00 p.m. in the lower level of the Parkman Town Office. ​​ Anyone interested in helping plan the 200th​​ Celebration for the Town of Parkman is encouraged to attend this meeting.

  • The Parkman Town Office is open Monday and Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. ​​ The phone number is 876-3730, fax is 876-9704, email is​​ townofparkman@yahoo.com, and website is​​ www.parkmanmaine.com. ​​ We no longer require appointments, but it is extremely helpful if you can call ahead with the transaction you would like to do. ​​ We accept credit cards over the phone as well. ​​ There is a 3% surcharge when using your credit card. ​​ Please wear a mask/face covering when coming into the Parkman Town Office. ​​ Happy Spring to all on March 20th.​​ 😊​​
