PARKMAN NEWS—JANUARY 2021 EDITION

  • The Parkman Town Office will be​​ CLOSED​​ on​​ Friday, January 1, 2021​​ in observance of New Years. ​​ We hope everyone has a safe and Happy New Year!

 

  • The Planning Board will meet on​​ Thursday, January 7th​​ at 6:00 p.m. in the library of the Parkman Town Office.

 

  • The​​ Parkman Trailblazers​​ Snowmobile Club​​ will meet on​​ Tuesday, January 12th​​ at 6:00 p.m. in the library of the Parkman Town Office.

 

  • The Board of Selectmen of the Town of Parkman will be accepting bids for the purchase of the municipality’s interest in one tax acquired property located at 102 Bagley Road in Parkman. ​​ Each bid must be in writing and in a sealed envelope marked “Tax Acquired Property Bid, 102 Bagley Road” on the outside. ​​ The Board of Selectmen must receive all bids no later than 5:00 p.m. on​​ Thursday, January 14, 2021. ​​ Late bids will not be opened or considered. ​​ Any bid will require a minimum bid of $10,000.00. ​​ Each bid must also include the bidder’s name, mailing address, and phone number and must be accompanied by a deposit in the form of a certified check or money order, in an amount equal to or greater than 10% of the bid price. ​​ Deposits will be returned to the unsuccessful bidders. ​​ Interested bidders can call the Parkman Town Office at 876-3730 or email​​ townofparkman@yahoo.com​​ to obtain more information on the property.

 

  • The Board of Selectmen will meet on​​ Thursday, January 14th​​ and​​ Thursday, January 28th​​ at 6:00 p.m. in the library of the Parkman Town Office.

 

  • The Parkman Town Office will be​​ CLOSED​​ on​​ Monday, January 18th​​ in observance of Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday.

 

  • The books for the Town of Parkman close on​​ Friday, January 29, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. ​​​​ Property taxes unpaid at that time will appear in the annual Town Report. ​​ Any requests to the Selectmen for articles in the warrant for the annual Town Meeting must be received by January 29, 2021.

 

  • Just a friendly reminder that all dogs six months and older must be licensed by​​ January 31, 2021​​ or a state mandated $25.00 late fee will apply. ​​ The fee for a male/female is $11.00, and $6.00 for a spayed or neutered dog.

 

  • White’s Family Redemption​​ WINTER HOURS: ​​ Open Tuesday through Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Closed Sunday and Monday. ​​ They are located on the Crow Hill Road in Parkman. ​​ 876-2681.

 

  • The Transfer Station is open Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to Noon. ​​ Please follow social distancing guidelines at the Transfer Station. ​​ Please have your sticker visible to the attendants inside of your vehicle. ​​ If you do not have a Transfer Station sticker, please contact the Town Office at 876-3730. ​​ They are free of charge.

 

  • ATTENTION:​​ ​​ The little winter sand shed by the old barn at the Parkman Town Office is for Parkman residents only. ​​​​ Please limit sand to​​ 2 five-gallon buckets per storm. ​​ Thank you!

 

  • The 2021 snowmobile registrations and stickers are now available. ​​ The fee for a renewal is $46.00, and $47.00 for a new registration. ​​ Non-resident snowmobile registrations are $100.00 for a renewal and $101.00 for a new registration, non-resident 3-Day is $50.00, and a non-resident 10-Day is $76.00. ​​ Inland Fisheries and Wildlife requires patrons to bring in a valid driver’s license or​​ unexpired​​ State ID when obtaining a snowmobile registration.

 

  • If you need a certified copy of a birth, death, or marriage certificate please call ahead to the Parkman Town Office at 876-3730. ​​ The fee is $15.00 for one copy, and $6.00 for any additional copies of the same record requested at the same time.

 

  • The Parkman Grange would like to thank everyone that made the SAD #4 Santa Project a success.

 

  • Proof of insurance is required to register all vehicles. ​​ The Town Office​​ accepts electronic proof of insurance or you can have your insurance agent email proof to​​ townofparkman@yahoo.com​​ or fax proof to 876-9704.

 

  • Inland Fisheries and Wildlife requires patrons to bring in a valid driver’s license​​ or unexpired State ID when obtaining a Hunting/Fishing License.

 

  • The Parkman Town Office is open by appointment only. ​​ Please call 876-3730 or email​​ townofparkman@yahoo.com​​ to schedule an appointment. ​​ We accept credit cards over the phone and in person. ​​ There is a 3% surcharge when using your credit card. ​​ We are here normal hours of Monday and Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. ​​ Please wear a mask/face covering when coming into the Parkman Town Office.
