PARKMAN NEWS—DECEMBER​​ 2020 EDITION

  • The Planning Board will meet on​​ Thursday, December 3, 2020​​ at 6:00 p.m. in the library of the Parkman Town Office.

 

  • Muzzleloader season is November 30th​​ through December 12th​​ and the cost for a muzzleloader license is $14.00. ​​ 

 

  • The​​ Parkman Trailblazers​​ Snowmobile Club will meet on​​ Tuesday, December 8th​​ at 6:00 p.m. in the lower level of the Parkman Town Office.

 

  • As of October 1, 2020, all 2020 unpaid property taxes are accruing interest at 8%.

 

  • The Board of Selectmen will meet on​​ Thursday, December 10th​​ at​​ 6:00 p.m. in the library of the Parkman Town Office.

 

  • The SAD #4 Santa Project is underway. ​​ This program provides a warm winter coat, boots, and toys to eligible children in our area. ​​ An angel tree is set up at KC’s Country Store where you can pick out a star with a child’s request and shop for that. ​​ Donations can be made by check to the Parkman Grange, PO Box 114, Guilford, ME ​​ 04443, memo line: Santa project. ​​ The distribution will be on​​ Sunday, December 20, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to Noon​​ at the Parkman Grange. ​​ It will be a drive thru event that will include a turkey dinner from the Masons. ​​ For more information please contact Sue Manchester at 277-3942.

 

  • The Parkman Town Office will be​​ CLOSED​​ on​​ Thursday, December 24th​​ and​​ Friday, December 25th​​ in observance of Christmas.

 

  • Just a friendly reminder that all dogs six months and older must be licensed by​​ January 31, 2021​​ or a state mandated $25.00 late fee will apply. ​​ The fee for a male/female is $11.00, and $6.00 for a spayed or neutered dog.

 

  • White’s Family Redemption​​ WINTER HOURS: Open Tuesday through Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Closed Sunday and Monday. ​​ They are located on the Crow Hill Road in Parkman. ​​ 876-2681.

 

  • Sonia Sanborn is the Animal Control Officer for the Town of Parkman. ​​ She can be reached at 876-3000 (h) or 343-0455 (c).

 

  • The Transfer Station is open Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to Noon. ​​ Please follow social distancing guidelines at the Transfer Station. ​​ Please have your sticker visible to the attendants inside of your vehicle. ​​ If you do not have a Transfer Station sticker, please contact the Town Office at 876-3730. ​​ They are free of charge.

 

  • The 2021 snowmobile registrations and stickers are now available. ​​ The fee for a renewal is $46.00, and $47.00 for a new registration. ​​ Non-resident snowmobile registrations are $100.00​​ for a renewal and $101.00 for a new registration, non-resident 3-Day is​​ $50.00, and a non-resident 10-Day is $76.00. ​​ Inland Fisheries and Wildlife requires patrons to bring in a valid driver’s license or State ID when obtaining a snowmobile registration.

 

  • Proof of insurance is required to register all vehicles. The Town Office accepts electronic proof of insurance or you can have your insurance email proof to​​ townofparkman@yahoo.com​​ or fax proof to​​ 876-9704.

 

  • The fee for a marriage license is $40.00. ​​ Marriage applications are valid 90 days from issue. ​​ Both the bride and groom must sign the application in the presence of a clerk at the Parkman Town Office. ​​ If this​​ is not​​ your first​​ marriage, please bring a copy of your divorce decree or a death certificate when completing the application. ​​ Please note that you must call the Parkman Town Office at 876-3730 to schedule an appointment to obtain your marriage license. ​​ 

 

  • Inland Fisheries and Wildlife requires patrons to bring in a valid driver’s license or unexpired State ID when obtaining a Hunting/Fishing License.

 

  • ATTENTION:​​ The little winter sand shed by the old barn at the Parkman Town Office is for Parkman residents only. ​​ Please limit sand to​​ 2 five-gallon buckets per storm. ​​ Thank you!

 

  • The Parkman Town Office will be​​ CLOSED​​ on​​ Friday, January 1, 2021​​ in observance of New Years. ​​ We hope everyone has a safe and Happy New Year!

 

  • If you need a certified copy of a birth, death, or marriage certificate please call ahead to the Parkman Town Office at 876-3730. ​​ The fee is $15.00 for one copy, and $6.00 for any additional copies of the same record requested at the same time.

 

  • Fire permits can be obtained at KC’s Country Store from Pam Sukis: 876-4111, and from Danny White at 85 Crow Hill Road: 876-2681.

 

  • The books for the Town of Parkman close on​​ Friday, January 29, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. ​​ Property taxes unpaid at the time will appear in the annual Town Report. ​​ Any requests to the Selectmen for articles in the warrant for the annual Town Meeting must be received by January 29, 2021.

 

  • Reminder: When doing a private sale, if there are two names on the prior title you must have both signatures on the back of the title to register the vehicle. ​​ If you are doing a title in two names at time of registration, both parties must be present to sign the title in front of the clerk.
