PARKMAN NEWS: APRIL 2020 EDITION

  • The Planning Board will not be meeting until further notice due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

 

  • The Annual Daddy Daughter dance that was scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 4th has been postponed due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. ​​ A new date to be determined.

 

  • The Parkman Grange will not meet this month due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

 

  • The Parkman Prowlers will not meet until further notice due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

 

  • The Transfer Station is open Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to Noon. ​​ The Re-Use Building is closed until further notice due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. ​​ Due to social distancing guidelines, please line up inside the gate and wait until the person ahead of you is done unloading their trash before you get out of your vehicle. ​​ You will need a Transfer Station sticker visible to the attendants inside of your vehicle. ​​ If you do not have a sticker, please call 876-3730 so we can mail you one. ​​ They are free of charge.

 

  • The Parkman Town Office is closed to the Public until further notice due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. ​​ Please call 876-3730 with any questions you may have. ​​ Please listen to the message left on the Town of Parkman’s voicemail as it will have detailed instructions on who to contact if we aren’t in the office. ​​ We are answering phones and although we are closed to the public, we are not closed for business. ​​ Although you are not required to register vehicles and recreational vehicles by the state, the Town still needs revenue in order to keep the Transfer Station open and the bills paid (i.e. streetlights and contracts). ​​ We accept credit card payments over the phone and checks by mail. ​​ Again, please call 876-3730 with any questions you may have. ​​ This is uncharted waters for us all during this time, and we are here to help in any way we can. ​​ 

 

  • The Board of Selectmen will not meet until further notice due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

 

  • The Parkman Town Office will be CLOSED for business on Monday, April 20th in observance of Patriots Day.

  • White’s Family Redemption is open Tuesday through Friday 10 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. ​​ They are open on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. ​​ They are closed on Monday and Sunday is a call ahead day 876-2681. ​​ They are located on the Crow Hill Road. ​​ Please be respectful of their business hours. ​​ 

 

  • Building permits are available online at www.parkmanmaine.com. ​​ You can fill out the form and return it to the Parkman Town Office at 771 State Hwy 150, Parkman, ME ​​ 04443 or email as an attachment to townofparkman@yahoo.com. ​​ 

 

  • Sonia Sanborn is the Animal Control Officer for the Town of Parkman. ​​ She can be reached at 876-3000 (h) or 343-0455 (c). ​​ Sonia deals with domestic animals only, for wildlife issues please contact a Game Warden.

 

  • Proof of insurance is required to register all vehicles. ​​ The Town Office accepts electronic proof of insurance or you can your insurance agent fax proof to 876-9704 or email proof to townofparkman@yahoo.com. ​​ 

 

  • The Parkman Baptist Church will not be holding worship services on Sunday mornings until further notice due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

 

  • The deadline for the online Maine Moose Permit Lottery is 11:59 p.m. on May 14, 2020. ​​ To apply please go to www.mefishwildlife.com. ​​ The Moose Permit drawing is scheduled to be held in mid-June.

 

  • Fire permits can be obtained at KC’s Country Store from Pam Sukis: 876-4111, and from Danny White at 85 Crow Hill Road: 876-2681.

 

  • If you need a certified copy of a birth, death, or marriage certificate please call ahead to the Parkman Town Office at 876-3730. ​​ The fee is $15.00 for one copy, and $6.00 for any additional copies of the same record requested at the same time.

 

  • The 2020 Boat Registrations are available. ​​ If you are registering a boat for the first time, you will need a bill of sale or proof of sales tax paid at a dealer at time of registration. ​​ Registration fee is based on length of boat and horsepower. ​​ Boats DO NOT require a title. ​​ If you are re-registering your boat, the forms have changed since last year. ​​ We need the color of the boat and your Maine Driver’s License number or a State ID. ​​ This is a requirement from Inland Fisheries and Wildlife.

  • The Mother’s Day Tea event scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 9, 2020 has been POSTPONED due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

 

  • For all those parents currently homeschooling due to SAD #4 school closure, the School Vacation week will still be observed April 20th through April 24th. ​​ 😊 ​​
