PARKMAN NEWS—JANUARY 2019 EDITION

  • The Parkman Town Office will be CLOSED on Monday, December 31st and Tuesday, January 1, 2019 in observance of New Years. ​​ We hope everyone has a safe and Happy New Year!

 

  • The Planning Board will meet on Thursday, January 3rd at 7:00 p.m. in the library of the Parkman Town Office.

 

  • The Parkman Prowlers will meet on Tuesday, January 8th at 6:00 p.m. at Wayne Libby’s house, 15 Libby Lane in Parkman off of the Crow Hill Road.

 

  • The Parkman Grange will not meet this month. ​​ The Parkman Grange Hall is closed for the winter and will re-open in time for the Town Meeting in March. ​​ The Parkman Grange would like to thank the town for all their support this past year and wish everyone a Happy New Year. ​​ For more information on the Grange and their activities please contact Sue Manchester at 277-3942.

 

  • ATTENTION: ​​ The little winter sand shed by the old barn at the Parkman Town Office is for Parkman Residents only. ​​ Please limit sand to 2 five- gallon buckets per storm. ​​ Thank you!

 

  • The Parkman Town Office will be CLOSED on Monday, January 21st in observance of Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday.

 

  • Just a friendly reminder that all dogs six months and older must be licensed by Thursday, January 31, 2019 or a state mandated $25.00 late fee will apply. ​​ The fee for a male/female is $11.00, and $6.00 for a spayed or neutered dog.

  • The books for the Town of Parkman will close on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. ​​ Property taxes unpaid at that time will appear in the annual Town Report. ​​ Any requests to the Selectmen for articles in the warrant for the annual Town Meeting must be received by January 31, 2019.

 

  • The Transfer Station is open Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to Noon.

 

  • The Board of Selectmen will meet on Thursday, January 10th and Thursday, January 24th at 6:00 p.m. in the library of the Parkman Town Office.

 

  • A Public Hearing will be held on Thursday, January 10th at 6:30 p.m. in the library of the Parkman Town Office. ​​ This hearing is to discuss various ordinances that will be listed on the warrant for the annual Town Meeting in March.

 

  • The Parkman Baptist Church holds worship services every Sunday morning at 10:00 a.m. ​​ All are welcome to attend.

 

  • The 2019 snowmobile registrations and stickers are available. ​​ The price is $46.00 for a renewal and $47.00 for a new registration. ​​ If you are registering your snowmobile for the first time, please bring in a bill of sale or proof of sales tax from a dealer. ​​ Non-resident snowmobile registrations are $100.00, non-resident 3-Day is $50.00, and a non-resident 10-Day is $76.00.

 

  • Proof of insurance is required to register vehicles. ​​ The Town Office accepts electronic proof of insurance or you can have your insurance agent fax proof to 876-9704.

 

  • The 2019 Hunting/Fishing licenses are available for purchase at the Parkman Town Office. ​​ Hunting licenses are $28.00, Fishing are $27.00, Junior Hunt are $10.00, Combination Hunt/Fish are $45.00, and Archery are $27.00.

 

  • White’s Family Redemption Winter Hours are 10 am to 2 pm every day except Monday. ​​ Pick ups are available for a small fee. ​​ Please call outside of business hours, 876-2681.

  • Sonia Sanborn is the Animal Control Officer for the Town of Parkman. ​​ She can be reached at 876-3000 (h) or 343-0455 (c). ​​ Sonia deals with domestic animals only, for wildlife issues please contact a Game Warden.

 

  • The Unitarian Universalist Church of Sangerville and Dover-Foxcroft Food Cupboard is open the 1st Wednesday and 3rd Wednesday each month from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. ​​ All are welcome. ​​ They are located at 130 Main Street in Sangerville (corner Church Street and Main Street).

 

  • If you need a certified copy of a birth, death, or marriage certificate, please call ahead to the Parkman Town Office at 876-3730. ​​ The fee is $15 for one copy, and $6.00 for any additional copies of the same record requested at the same time.

 

  • One World Community Café serves a healthy lunch every Wednesday at Noon at the Guilford Methodist Church in Guilford. ​​ All are welcome to attend.

 

  • The fee for postage will increase from .50 cents to .55 cents on January 27, 2019.

 

  • The Parkman Town Office has the 2019 Open Water and Ice Fishing books available, free of charge.

 

  • The annual Town Meeting will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at the Parkman Grange Hall.
