PARKMAN NEWS—FEBRUARY 2019 EDITION

  • The Parkman Grange Hall is closed for the winter, but will re-open in mid-March for the annual Town Meeting. ​​ The Grange will meet at Paul and Cheryl Yale’s home on Tuesday, February 5th at 5:00 p.m. ​​ For more information please contact Sue at 277-3942.

 

  • The Planning Board will meet on Thursday, February 7th at 7:00 p.m. in the library of the Parkman Town Office.

 

  • The Parkman Trailblazers will meet on Tuesday, February 12th at 6:00 p.m. at Wayne Libby’s house, 15 Libby Lane in Parkman off of the Crow Hill Road.

 

  • The Parkman Town Office will be CLOSED on Monday, February 18th in observance of President’s Day.

 

  • The Board of Selectmen will meet on Thursday, February 14th and Thursday, February 28th at 6:00 p.m. in the library of the Parkman Town Office.

 

  • School vacation week is February 18th through the 22nd. ​​ 

 

  • ATTENTION: ​​ The little winter sand shed by the old barn at the Parkman Town Office is for Parkman Residents ONLY. ​​ Please limit sand to 2 five-gallon buckets per storm.

 

  • The Transfer Station is open Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to Noon.

 

  • The Parkman Town Office has the 2019 Open Water and Ice Fishing books available free of charge.

 

  • The Parkman Baptist Church holds worship services every Sunday morning at 10:00 a.m. ​​ All are welcome to attend.

 

  • The 2019 snowmobile registrations and stickers are available. ​​ The price is $46.00 for a renewal and $47.00 for a new registration. ​​ If you are registering your snowmobile for the first time, please bring in a bill of sale or proof of sales tax from a dealer. ​​ Non-resident snowmobile registrations are $100.00, non-resident 3-Day is $50.00, and a non-resident 10-Day is $76.00.

 

  • White’s Family Redemption Winter Hours are 10 am to 2 pm every day except Monday. ​​ Pick ups are available for a small fee. ​​ Please call outside of business hours, 876-2681.

 

  • Proof of insurance is required to register vehicles. ​​ The Town Office accepts electronic proof of insurance or you can have your insurance agent fax proof to 876-9704.

 

  • If you need a certified copy of a birth, death, or marriage certificate, please call ahead to the Parkman Town Office at 876-3730. ​​ The fee is $15 for one copy, and $6.00 for any additional copies of the same record requested at the same time.

 

  • Sonia Sanborn is the Animal Control Officer for the Town of Parkman. ​​ She can be reached at 876-3000 (h) or 343-0455 (c). ​​ Sonia deals with domestic animals only, for wildlife issues please contact a Game Warden.

 

  • The 2019 Hunting/Fishing licenses are available for purchase at the Parkman Town Office. ​​ Hunting licenses are $28.00, Fishing are $27.00, Junior Hunt are $10.00, Combination Hunt/Fish are $45.00, and Archery are $27.00.

 

  • The Unitarian Universalist Church of Sangerville and Dover-Foxcroft Food Cupboard is open the 1st Wednesday and 3rd Wednesday each month from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. ​​ All are welcome. ​​ They are located at 130 Main Street in Sangerville (corner Church Street and Main Street).

 

  • The annual Town Meeting will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at the Parkman Grange Hall.
