PARKMAN NEWS—DECEMBER 2018 EDITION

  • The Parkman Grange will meet on Tuesday, December 4th at 6:00 p.m. at the Parkman Grange Hall. ​​ All are invited to attend this meeting. ​​ They will be closing the Grange Hall for the winter after Christmas. ​​ There will not be a meeting in January.

 

  • Muzzleloading season is November 26th through December 8, 2018, and the cost for a muzzleloading license is $14.00.

 

  • The Planning Board will meet on Thursday, December 6th at 7:00 p.m. in the library of the Parkman Town Office.

 

  • SANTA IS COMING TO PARKMAN GRANGE: The Parkman Grange will host the annual Kid’s Christmas Party on Saturday, December 8th from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Parkman Grange Hall. ​​ Santa will be there listening to wishes, giving out presents, and posing for pictures. ​​ Eight different craft tables will be set up for kids to make gifts to give to family or friends. ​​ Cookies, cocoa, and spiced cider will be served. ​​ This party is FREE of charge to all who believe that giving brings the greatest joy. ​​ It is Parkman Grange’s gift to the community. ​​ Anyone interested in helping out for a few hours, give Sue a call at 277-3942.

 

  • The Transfer Station is open Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to Noon.

 

  • The Board of Selectmen will meet on Thursday, December 13th and Thursday, December 27th at 6:00 p.m. in the library of the Parkman Town Office.

 

  • There will be a Candlelight Christmas Eve Service on Monday, December 24th at 6:00 p.m. at the Parkman Baptist Church. ​​ This will be a special time of reflection and praise. ​​ All are welcome to attend.

 

  • The Parkman Town Office will be CLOSED on Monday, December 24th and Tuesday, December 25th in observance of Christmas.

 

  • The SAD #4 Santa project is underway. ​​ This program provides a warm coat, boots, and a toy to eligible children in our area. ​​ An angel tree is set up at KC’s Country Store. ​​ If you would like to help with this project, please contact Sue Manchester at 277-3942. ​​ The Santa Project distribution will be held on December 16th from 10:00 a.m. to Noon.

 

  • As of October 1st, all 2018 unpaid property taxes are accruing interest at 7%.

 

  • The 2019 snowmobile registration and stickers are now available. ​​ The fee for a renewal is $46.00, and $47.00 for a new registration. ​​ Non-resident snowmobile registrations are $100.00, non-resident 3-Day is $50.00, and a non-resident 10-Day is $76.00.

 

  • Just a friendly reminder that all dogs six months and older must be licensed by January 31, 2019 or a state mandated $25.00 late fee will apply. ​​ The fee for a male/female is $11.00, and $6.00 for a spayed or neutered dog.

 

  • The Parkman Baptist Church holds worship services every Sunday morning at 10:00 a.m. ​​ All are welcome to attend.

 

  • Proof of insurance is required to register vehicles. ​​ The Town Office accepts electronic proof of insurance or you can have your insurance agent fax proof to 876-9704.

 

  • One World Community Café serves a healthy lunch every Wednesday at Noon at the Guilford Methodist Church in Guilford. ​​ All are welcome to attend.

 

  • Sonia Sanborn is the Animal Control Officer for the Town of Parkman. ​​ She can be reached at 876-3000 (h) or 343-0455 (c). ​​ Sonia deals with domestic animals only, for wildlife issues please contact a Game Warden.

  • If you need a certified copy of a birth, death, or marriage certificate, please call ahead to the Parkman Town Office at 876-3730. ​​ The fee is $15 for one copy, and $6.00 for any additional copies of the same record requested at the same time.

 

  • Fire permits can be obtained at KC’s Country Store from Pam Sukis: 876-4111, and from Danny White at 85 Crow Hill Road: 876-2681.

 

  • The Unitarian Universalist Church of Sangerville and Dover-Foxcroft Food Cupboard is open the 1st Wednesday and 3rd Wednesday each month from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. ​​ All are welcome. ​​ They are located at 130 Main Street in Sangerville (corner Church Street and Main Street).

 

  • The Parkman Town Office will be CLOSED on Monday, December 31st and Tuesday, January 1, 2019 in observance of New Years. ​​ We hope everyone has a safe and Happy New Year!

 

  • White’s Family Redemption is open Tuesday through Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. ​​ They are located at 85 Crow Hill Road. ​​ 876-2681.

 

  • The books for the Town of Parkman will close on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. ​​ Property taxes unpaid at that time will appear in the annual Town Report. ​​ Any requests to the Selectmen for articles in the warrant for the annual Town Meeting must be received by January 31, 2019.
